About ExecSalaries
ExecSalaries is a free, publicly accessible database of executive compensation for publicly traded companies in the United States. Our mission is simple: make executive pay data accessible to everyone, not just institutional investors and financial professionals.
Where Does the Data Come From?
All compensation data is sourced directly from DEF 14A proxy filings submitted to the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) via EDGAR. These are legally required annual disclosures that every publicly traded company must file, detailing the compensation of their top five highest-paid executives. The data includes base salary, stock awards, option grants, non-equity incentive plan compensation, and all other forms of compensation.
Why We Built This
Executive compensation data is technically public — but it's buried in dense SEC filings that are difficult to search, compare, and understand. Existing tools that surface this data cleanly are either paywalled or aimed at institutional clients. ExecSalaries was built to change that: a clean, fast, free interface for anyone curious about how much the world's top executives really make.
Data Currency
Compensation data is reported on a one-year lag — companies file their proxy statements in early 2025 covering fiscal year 2024 compensation. This means our current data reflects FY2024 compensation as reported in 2025 proxy filings — the most current data available anywhere. We update our database annually as new proxy filings are submitted to the SEC.
Coverage
We currently cover CEOs and named executive officers at S&P 500 companies, with ongoing expansion to Russell 1000 and beyond. Each company's top five highest-paid executives are included as disclosed in their proxy filing.
Disclaimer
ExecSalaries is an independent informational resource and is not affiliated with any of the companies listed. All data is sourced from public SEC filings and is provided for informational purposes only. While we strive for accuracy, users should verify figures directly with SEC EDGAR for any professional or investment purposes.
